How to Do DTF Printing

DTF printing is an exciting new addition to the garment decoration industry. Unlike DTG printing, which requires pretreatment, DTF does not require this step. This technique also saves on ink costs. The majority of the ink used in DTG printing is color ink, with about 40% of that being white, which is the most expensive. Additionally, DTF printing saves time. It takes seconds to apply the powder to a garment, while DTG printing can take anywhere from five to ten minutes to pretreat.

The direct transfer film is a relatively inexpensive medium for DTF printing. Available in A4 and A3 sizes, DTF film allows you to personalize large items without having to print on two pieces of paper. Unlike DTG printing, which requires a separate transfer of the image to the fabric, DTF printing only needs to print on a single sheet of film. Once that has been printed, the film is melted in a heat press. The image is then transferred to the fabric. DTF printing is easy to use and produces high-quality results.

After the powder is mixed, it is melted in a special curing oven. Depending on the type of printer, the DTF can be cured in a variety of ways. Some commercial DTF printers use a curing oven and a dryer, while smaller print operations use a heat press. Once the DTF is cured, the print is ready to be applied to a surface. DTF is applied to a surface by applying heat to it between three hundred and five hundred degrees Fahrenheit for ten to twenty seconds. Some DTF transfers can even be removed after the application of heat.

DTF printing is an excellent solution for high-visibility, workwear, and cycling wear. Since DTF printing uses water-based ink,  Its finished product will not crack like screen-printed materials. Consequently, DTF printing is a cost-effective option for operators. You should be prepared to invest some time and research to find the best printer for your needs.

DTF printers are used to print patterns on PET film, which is thicker than screen-printed films. PET films are also more durable than screen-printed materials, and they are available in both cut sheet and roll form. The two types of films have similar properties, but each has its advantages and disadvantages. There are also differences in the quality of prints made by DTF printers. A DTF printer will need specialized software to control color and ink levels and achieve the best printing quality possible.

Direct-to-film printing is a popular method for printing on dark fabrics. The technology allows for high-resolution, vivid prints on both light and dark fabrics. DTF printing also works well with canvas and cotton fabric. Its heat-press mechanism allows the print to transfer directly to the fabric. This method is ideal for small businesses because it eliminates the need for pretreatment liquid. However, it is important to check the quality of the DTF printing before committing to it.
